Jane O'Brien

Based in Whitstable, I offer specialist 1:1 tuition and practical empathetic support for individuals and families affected by the challenges of dyslexia.
Together we identify strengths and relative areas of weakness and specifically target the individual's needs to help them overcome learning difficulties. This multi-sensory, cumulative, targeted support builds confidence, independence and self-esteem laying a positive foundation for future learning or work-based challenges.
Although challenging, my 1:1 tuition sessions remain relaxed and are taught collaboratively with the student based on their own interests.
My extensive experience, qualifications, training and skills (I am also a Level 7 qualified dyslexia assessor with an Assessment Practising Certificate) mean I am able to draw on many teaching methods and programmes to suit different ages and abilities. For older children or adults, I use relevant school, college or work-based resources. I also teach exam techniques and study skills.
